Windows 11’s Photos app officially integrates with iCloud Photo
Microsoft announced on November 10 that a new version of the Photos app for Windows 11 is being pushed out to support viewing photos in iCloud Photo. In addition to updating the Photos app through the Microsoft Store, users will need to install the Windows version of iCloud and select specific photos or libraries to sync to the Windows Photos app once logged in. In addition, the Windows Photos app will also support a gallery view to view photos located in iCloud.

Microsoft Releases Windows Dev Kit 2023 Kit
On October 25, Microsoft launched the first Windows on ARM minicomputer development kit, previously known as Project Volterra, now known as the Windows Dev Kit 2023 kit. The Windows Dev Kit is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor with 32GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, and features three USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, and a Mini DP output port for up to two 4K60Hz displays at the same time; the Windows Dev Kit also features an internal neural processing unit (NPU) for hardware acceleration when processing tasks such as AI camera effects. The Windows Dev Kit 2023, which only runs Windows 11, will debut in China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Canada and Australia for $599.

News: VESA Announces DisplayPort 2.1
VESA Announces DisplayPort 2.1 Specifications
On October 17, the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) announced the DisplayPort 2.1 specifications, which is backward compatible and replaces DisplayPort 2.0. VESA says that thanks to previous efforts by the association and manufacturers, products certified to DP 2.0 will be able to meet the more stringent DP 2.1 standard. The DP 2.1 standard primarily enhances conformance with the USB Type-C and USB4 PHY standards, and improves cable specifications to enhance stability. It is worth noting that the recently released Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU only supports the DP 1.4a specifications.
